On 25 June, Oschadbank and the European Fund for Southeast Europe Development Facility (EFSE DF), backed by financial support from the European Union, put their signatures to a grant agreement aimed at supporting micro, small and medium-sized enterprises in Ukraine while at the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Gdansk.
The initiative establishes a grant facility of up to EUR 2 million, which will be combined with loan financing from Oschadbank to support Ukrainian businesses. The program aims to help enterprises restore operations and activities, implement investment projects, establish employment opportunities as well as strengthen the resilience of the Ukrainian economy amidst the war.
Under the program, the companies operating within three main sectors will be eligible for funding: the agricultural sector, companies significantly affected by the war, and businesses implementing projects focused on recovery, production modernization, logistics development as well as energy resilience enhancement.
The grant program forms part of a broader partnership under which EFSE’s Ukraine Sub-Fund has provided the equivalent of EUR 20 million in local currency financing to Oschadbank, enabling expanded lending to Ukrainian businesses.
“Small and medium-sized enterprises are currently propping up the country’s economy and laying the groundwork for its future recovery. Thanks to the new program with EFSE, Ukrainian entrepreneurs will gain additional resources to develop their businesses, modernize manufacturing, restore damaged assets and implement energy-independent solutions. A grant fund of up to EUR 2 million will enable us to support dozens of Ukrainian companies investing in their own development despite the ongoing war. For Oschadbank, businesses’ support remains one of our primary priorities, since entrepreneurs are the ones who create jobs, ensure the resilience of communities and bring Ukraine’s economic recovery closer,” - said Natalia Butkova-Vitvitska, a Member of the Management Board of Oschadbank.
“Through this partnership with Oschadbank, we are delivering targeted support where it matters most—strengthening businesses, sustaining livelihoods, and reinforcing Ukraine’s economic resilience. Backed by European capital, this agreement reflects our shared commitment to recovery, stability, and long-term growth,” – said Andrii Stoliar, Investment Manager at Finance in Motion.
Particular attention would be dedicated to businesses in the regions most affected by the hostilities, as well as to businesses established or led by women, veterans, internally displaced persons, young entrepreneurs and people with disabilities.
Individual grants may reach up to EUR 100,000 depending on the project category and program conditions.
