On September 9, Visa and Oschadbank launched “Dream it Up,” a project for teens aged 13 to 18 who keep pushing toward their goals despite challenges and obstacles.
There are 1.3 million teens living in Ukraine today. They are growing up amidst great uncertainty, but they keep dreaming boldly, setting goals for themselves, and planning for the future. Among them, 82% have a positive outlook on their future*.
The "Dream It Up" project is designed to support teens’ aspirations and help them move toward their goals with greater confidence.
Teens aged 13 to 18 are eligible to participate. Between September 9 and 14, they should share a story about their dream on social media and explain how they are moving toward it despite the challenges. Adults can also nominate a teen by posting his or her story.
On September 15, the project’s jury will select the finalists. The jury includes sports commentators Maks Podzihun and Vitalii Volochai, known as v1lat; psychologist Svitlana Roiz; host and comedian Yefym Konstantinovskyi; KARTA SVITU frontman Ivan Marunych; singer Svitlana Tarabarova; sports blogger Anastasiia Levchenko; and representatives from Visa and Oschadbank. The following day, September 16, the names of the five finalists will be announced at the “Place of Power” hosted by the “Dobrodii Club” charitable foundation. All of them will have the opportunity to participate in the foundation’s transformational program, and one of the finalists, supported by Visa, will travel to Baku to attend the world’s most prestigious race. Another 20 project participants will receive themed LEGO sets.
“A dream helps us see the big picture and find the strength to move forward. Today, Ukrainian teenagers impress us with their resilience, courage, and desire to build plans for the future. In partnership with Oschadbank, we aim to support them along this path – to help them believe in their personal potential, gain new knowledge, and take their first steps toward their goals. For Visa, it’s important to provide opportunities for the younger generation, because these teenagers will shape Ukraine’s future. We want them to be self-confident and understand that even a big dream starts with one single step,” said Tetiana Chorna, Vice President and Regional Manager of Visa in Ukraine.
"Everyone has a dream that once seemed very far away. But it is precisely these dreams that give rise to goals, decisions, and progress. Ukrainian teenagers today are particularly strong – they know how to dream about the future even when circumstances force them to grow up too quickly. Through the "Dream It Up" project, we want to remind them of a simple but important truth: their dreams matter. And we also want to give them the opportunity to take a real step toward making those dreams come true. For Oschadbank, supporting youth means investing not only in today, but also in those who will shape Ukraine’s future,” notes Anton Tiutiun, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Oschadbank.
“Ukrainian teenagers are growing up with high-level stress as a part of their daily lives. But it’s crucial to see more than just their vulnerability. They possess an incredible ability to adapt, find support, and keep moving forward. Over the past ten years, the “Dobrodii Club” has supported more than 350,000 children and teenagers. So, we are aware that today it is crucial to help them dream, recognize opportunities, and forge their path”, says Mariia Todorchuk, founder of the “Dobrodii Club” charitable foundation and an impact leader.
