Oschadbank allocated over UAH 1 million for the purchase of modern equipment for the Blood Center of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

As part of the “Power of Blood” project, Oschad provided more than one million hryvnias to the KOLO Charitable Foundation for the purchase of vital modern equipment for the new Blood Center of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This initiative is a response to the urgent need to update the material and technical base of the center, some of whose equipment was manufactured from 1913 to the 1970s.

Thanks to the financial support of Oschadbank modern equipment was purchased, which is critical to ensuring the proper blood collection, storage and processing, which is crucial to saving lives at the front and on the home front. Blood loss is one of the most lethal hazards - up to 90% of deaths in war are caused by it.

“Modern technologies save lives. Thanks to the joint efforts of the state, charitable organizations, businesses, and every concerned Ukrainian, we intend to create a modern facility that will provide up-to-date services for the treatment of wounded Ukrainian defenders. Supporting the Blood Center of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is another contribution of Oschad to improving the Ukrainian system of treatment and rehabilitation of veterans,” comments Sergii Naumov, Chairman of the Management Board of Oschadbank.

“Thanks to the donors who, despite all the dangers of war, donated blood every day at the Blood Center of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, we managed to save tens of thousands of lives of our defenders. As a result of the efforts and support of partner organizations such as the Kolo Charitable Foundation and Oschadbank, it became possible to significantly expand and upgrade the material and technical base of the Armed Forces Blood Center. We can confidently say that the blood bank for the army now meets all modern standards,” said Andrii Korzh, head of the Blood Center, chief transfusiologist of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and major of medical service.

“Thank you very much for Oschad's involvement in the Power of Blood project. In this way, the bank has demonstrated an example of responsible business behavior. Thanks to this charitable contribution, even more blood stocks will be stored for the defenders of Ukraine, which will help save the lives of our heroes,” said Iryna Soloshenko, head of the medical department of the CO ‘CF KOLO’.

The decision to establish a new separate modern Blood Center of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was made by the Medical Forces Command and the Ministry of Defense at the end of 2023. It is planned that the renovation and relocation of the center to the new premises will be completed in 2025. The total need for renovation of the equipment fleet amounted to almost UAH 21 million.

This is not the first time Oschadbank has helped Ukraine's defenders. Last year, as part of the inclusive My Accessibility program, which includes physical rehabilitation of female and male veterans and their reintegration, 4 projects were implemented to support the patients of the Superhumans Center, the All-Ukrainian Modern Center for Prosthetics, Reconstructive Surgery, and Rehabilitation of War Victims, namely

• together with MasterCard, two wards were equipped;
• thanks to Oschad’s charitable contribution of UAH 10 million, the creation of a sterilization department was financed;
• Oschad customers raised about UAH 2 million for the Center as part of the #SuperCoins campaign organized by the NBU;
• the Bank supported the charity football match “Match for Heroes,” which brought together 16 veterans with amputated limbs and Ukrainian showbiz stars. The event raised about UAH 8 million for sports prostheses for veterans under the care of the Superhumans Center.
