Oschadbank more than doubled its share of investment lending to large businesses during the full-scale war

At the Forbes Ukraine Industrialists Forum on September 12, 2025, Yurii Katsion, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Oschadbank, responsible for corporate business, said that compared to 2021, Oschadbank more than doubled its share of investment loans to corporate business clients.

"If investment projects constituted 15% of loan agreements with corporate clients prior to the commencement of the full-scale war, this percentage rose to 35% in 2024-2025. We understand the needs of our shareholder, the state, and focus on projects that provide the greatest multiplier effect on economic growth and will have a significant impact on the country's GDP growth," Yurii Katsion emphasized.

According to the deputy chairman of the board, Oschadbank offers large businesses the longest investment loan terms available on the Ukrainian market today—up to 10 years. Interest rates on foreign currency loans are 1.5-2% lower than those offered by international financial organizations to businesses in Ukraine. Oschadbank also provides a full range of additional instruments, from letters of credit and portfolio guarantees to special programs from foreign partners.

"During the period of full-scale war, Oschadbank has an NPL of 0% on new agreements in the corporate business segment. It's not because some of our clients have had better luck during the war; it's because we're mostly interested in building long-term relationships. We engage in dialogue on anti-crisis response plans in advance, preventing the emergence of possible insolvency. One way to respond may even be to attract additional financial support," noted the deputy chairman of the board of Oschadbank.

“Oschadbank is a leader in financing businesses in frontline territories. We do not refuse companies that have suffered damage if there is even the slightest chance of restoring their operations and achieving operational profitability,” said Yurii Katsion.

Incidentally, last week, during a roundtable discussion on the resilience of the Ukrainian banking sector held in London, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development awarded Oschadbank two distinctions: for the largest volume of lending in frontline regions (Frontline Finance Award) and for active assistance in the revival of enterprises (Enterprise Renaissance Champion Award). These awards are further proof of Oschadbank's importance for businesses in regions close to the front line.
