FUIB and Oschadbank united to save the lives of Ukrainians

On December 19-20, a joint donor initiative, “Christmas Unites Hearts” will take place in Kyiv. For the first time in Ukrainian history, two systemically important banks have united to draw attention to the problem of donation and help overcome blood shortages during the festive period of the year.
During the winter holidays, blood donations traditionally decrease, while the need remains critically high. Especially now. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the need for donor blood has increased by 60%, and the number of donors has hardly changed. Today, only a third of patients in Ukraine receive blood on time. For others, it could be the best Christmas gift.
That is why, for the first time in Ukrainian history, two systemically important banks united to draw attention to the problem of donation and help overcome blood deficiency in the most difficult period of the year. When you do good, there is no place for competition.
Under the slogan “Good deeds unite and overcome barriers”, banks call on Ukrainians to join and support those who are just now fighting for their lives—primarily military and civilian patients who need donated blood.
On December 19 and 20, a mobile donor hub in a large double-decker bus will operate near the branches of FUIB and Oschadbank in Kyiv at 103 Velyka Vasylkivska Street.
On the lower floor of the hub, there is the first interactive space in Ukraine dedicated to blood donation. Here you can find out how much gold is in your blood, feel how warm you are, and hear the stories of donors and recipients. By learning more about donation and overcoming traditional fears and prejudices, everyone will be able to take a step towards those who need vital help. For this, a comfortable blood donation station operates on the second floor of the bus, where donors are met by a professional medical team.
Representatives of the management of both banks and teams joined the “Christmas Unites Hearts” initiative. Despite tight schedules, the chairman of the board of FUIB, Serhii Chernenko, and the deputy chairman of the board of Oschadbank, Anton Tiutiun, donated blood in a mobile donor hub on December 19, demonstrating by their own example that everyone can and should save lives. On December 20, everyone who cares will be waiting here. You can register for a donation online by choosing a convenient time from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The interactive exhibition is open from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
“This initiative for us is not a one-time action, but a continuation of efforts aimed at developing a culture of systemic donation in Ukraine. Donation does not require superpowers but can become a real Christmas miracle and save someone's life. Think about how your blood is the best gift for those who need it. We made sure that making this gift was as simple as possible. Come!” invites Serhii Chernenko, Chairman of the Board of FUIB.
“Big banks can join together for an important cause. This initiative is for everyone who needs help, but it is especially important for defenders of Ukraine. Every drop of donor blood can be decisive, can help avoid amputations and can reduce the risk of disability after injuries. So don't remain indifferent,” urges Anton Titiun, deputy chairman of the board of Oschadbank.
The organizers of the initiative emphasize that every donation of blood is a chance for life. Join!
For information:
FUIB systematically supports social projects and donor initiatives; in particular, it implements a joint project with Mastercard, “Warmbloods,” which popularizes the culture of systemic donation and helps save lives. Partners of the project are the public organizations, DonorUA and Blood Agents. Since its launch, 225 donors have donated 101 liters of blood, giving more than 675 people a chance to help. You can learn more about the project and register for a donation on the http://teplokrovni.com.ua/ website.
Oschadbank develops inclusiveness under its own program, “My Accessibility,” supports veterans and people with disabilities, and creates affordable services and spaces. Oschad is a leader in creating inclusive branches. Back in 2014, the first institutions that exceeded inclusiveness standards were opened. Today there are 33 such branches, and they provide a full range of services for people with disabilities. More than 700 branches of Oschadbank meet the requirements of state construction norms on inclusiveness.
