On December 4, 2025, Kyiv hosted the forum “Strengthening Ukraine's Resilience: Launch of the Sustainable Development Financing Platform,” which brought together government agencies, international partners, local authorities, representatives of the financial sector, and experts with the aim of building a unified sustainable financing system in Ukraine. Representatives of Oschadbank took part in the forum; Mykola Brusenko, member of the supervisory board, gave an introductory speech, and Oksana Kuznetsova, head of the ESG center, spoke about Oschadbank's experience in implementing ESG principles.

The event was dedicated to the official launch of the Sustainable Development Financing Platform, which is to become a national mechanism for coordinating policies related to sustainable finance and standards in line with EU legislation.

"Ukraine has every chance to become an example for the whole world—a country that, despite war, destruction, and many years of historical oppression, is capable of recovering and building a stable future based on sustainability, transparency, and innovation. Sustainable development is about our decisions today and their impact in 20, 30, or 50 years. It is about the world in which our children and our grandchildren will live. The decisions we make now will determine what kind of country we rebuild and what kind of country we pass on to future generations," comments Mykola Brusenko, advisor to the Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine and member of the supervisory board of Oschadbank.

"For a long time now, Oschadbank has been systematically implementing ESG principles in its activities, particularly in its financing practices. As a state-owned bank, we feel responsible to society, follow the regulators' vision for the development of the financial sector, prepare for changes in legislation caused by Ukraine's European integration course, and strive to be a leader in supporting the Ukrainian economy. At the same time, rebuilding our country on the principles of sustainable development is a task that requires significant investment, mutual coordination, consistency, and support from all participants in the process. Therefore, we welcome initiatives aimed at developing a sustainable financing system in Ukraine in accordance with European standards," says Oksana Kuznetsova, head of Oschadbank's ESG center.

At the beginning of 2026, quarterly coordination meetings of the platform participants will begin, at which policies will be formed, terminology will be agreed upon, EU standards will be adapted, and a legislative framework for ESG reporting will be formed. A separate area of the platform's work will be training for businesses, civil society organizations, and international partners. Reports on the state of sustainable finance in Ukraine will be published based on the results of the work.
