Oschadbank's Mobile Branch Has Begun Operating for Residents of Izmail and Bolhrad Communities in Odesa Region

Oschad News

In early June a mobile branch was officially established in Izmail to serve residents of   Izmail and Bolhrad communities enabling them to access basic banking services with no need for long trips to other settlements. This expansion is being in line with the bank's mobile banking project aimed at providing access to financial services in communities lacking permanent branches or where access to them is limited.

This is the second mobile branch in Odesa region; the first one was launched in Podolsk, and now there are 14 Oschadbank's mobile branches operating throughout Ukraine. Currently, this initiative is the single one in the country's banking sector delivering such services.

“Oschadbank operates the largest branch network in Ukraine. However, even such a network is not sufficient to be available to customers where they need us, particularly during a full-scale invasion. Therefore, being the largest state-owned bank, we must be present where the others may not be able to:  in frontline communities as well as in remote and hard-to-reach areas, to serve people wherever they live. Our mobile app allows for day-to-day digital banking, however, there are still many services that require the bank’s physical presence, such as cash withdrawals or cash deposits", noted Anton Tiutiun, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Oschadbank.

“Oschad on Wheels” is housed in a specialized armored vehicle and features a satellite communication, an autonomous power supply, a video surveillance system as well as modern banking equipment. Such equipment ensures the smooth operation of the service and protects financial transactions and customers’ personal data even in areas with no standard infrastructure.

The “Oschad on Wheels” schedule will be drawn up jointly with local authorities to ensure that visits are as convenient as possible for residents.

The mobile platform allows users to access financial services at no extra time or traveling. Residents will be able to receive pensions, social benefits, and financial assistance; open an account or set up a deposit; reissue a payment card; make transfers; pay for utilities and other services as well as exchange currency. This is particularly important for older adults, people with limited mobility, and residents of remote areas.

“Oschad on Wheels” is being implemented as part of Oschadbank’s inclusive program “My Accessibility.” Within the framework of this program, Oschadbank is consistently developing inclusive infrastructure throughout the country. Currently, over 730 of its branches meet government standards for physical accessibility, and another 38 inclusive branches established under Oschadbank’s own project operating with enhanced accessibility standards.

Along with mobile branches, it forms a comprehensive system for people to access financial services - both in cities and in remote communities.

Oschadbank currently manages 14 mobile branches offering financial services in frontline and hard-to-reach communities with no permanent banking infrastructure.
