On October 16-18, the final round of the 2026 Ukraine Amputee Football Championship and the season’s closing ceremony took place at the Blago Arena in Ivano-Frankivsk.
According to the competition results, Lviv’s “Pokrova AMP” became the Ukraine Super League champion for the second consecutive time, while its second team, “Pokrova AMP-2,” won the First League in its debut season. For the first time since the championship was established, a single club has won both leagues.
The project is being implemented by the Ukrainian Football Association as part of the national “League of the Mighty” program, with systematic support from Oschadbank and its exclusive partner, Mastercard.
In less than a year, the tournament has expanded significantly: this season featured 18 teams rather than 12, and more than 500 players from 8 cities across Ukraine, who played over 150 matches. For veterans who were wounded on the front lines, amputee football has become not just a sport, but also a powerful tool for physical and mental rehabilitation and a return to an active life.
“I would like to express my gratitude to our military personnel and veterans for their service. I know firsthand how important sports are: above all, they are about discipline and achieving results. Together, we are striving to ensure that amputee football receives adequate state financing. The development of veterans’ sports is a separate focus of my work, and I will carry it out together with my team,” said Vitalii Kim, Minister for Veterans Affairs of Ukraine.
“This is the third year that Oschadbank has been supporting amputee football in Ukraine. It all started with just a few matches, and today it’s a major tournament featuring 18 teams across the country and over 500 players. Supporting the ‘League of the Mighty’ is Oschadbank’s contribution to the development of an inclusive, barrier-free society of equal opportunities,” said Anton Tiutiun, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Oschadbank.
Key highlights of the Super League season: “Pokrova AMP” (Lviv) retained its championship title and will represent Ukraine in the 2027 EAFF Champions League. “Khrestonostsi” (Lutsk) took silver and are preparing for the 2027 EAFF Europa League, while “MSK Dnipro” (Cherkasy) won bronze.
First League: “Pokrova AMP-2” went undefeated in its debut season. Joining them in the Super League next season are the silver and bronze medalists - “Stal Bukovyna” (Chernivtsi) and “Dnipro Chest” (Dnipro).
This season, with the support of Oschadbank and exclusive partner Mastercard, an open online fan vote was held for the first time. Social media posts reached over 85,500 users, who cast 3,378 votes. All five awards for the season’s best moments were unanimously won by First League newcomer “Podilski Vovky” from Khmelnytskyi (best goal, save, and assist, as well as the “Progress of the Year” and “Rookie of the Year” categories). Singer Zlata Ognevich presented the awards to the winners.
Another milestone in the project’s development was the presentation of the “Championship Lion” awards to the top scorers, sponsored by the “Lvivske” brand: in the Super League, the award went to Vadym Korol (Khrestonostsi) and in the First League to Mykola Shvets (Pokrova AMP-2).
The championship was organized by the Ukrainian Football Association and the UAF Foundation with the support of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine, the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Mass Sports Agency, and the exclusive partners of the “League of the Strong” – Mastercard and Oschadbank.
