Over the two years that the comprehensive “Business 4.5.0 support program for veteran entrepreneurship has been running, combined with synergies through the state-run “eRobota” program, the total amount of financial support provided by Oschadbank to veterans and their family members in the form of loans and grants has exceeded 1.56 billion UAH.
In particular, under its own “Business 4.5.0” program, Oschadbank has provided 127 loans totalling UAH 210 million. The average funding amount exceeded UAH 1.6 million per project. Furthermore, this category of customers has opened more than 1,900 accounts with the bank for business purposes during this period.
Oschadbank launched the “Business 4.5.0” program in April 2024 aimed at providing comprehensive support to veterans seeking to start or develop their own business upon returning to civilian life.
In addition, the state-run “eRobota” program serves as a key component of this support. Acting as the authorized bank for the program, Oschad has verified applications for grants totalling UAH 1.35 billion for 2,400 veteran entrepreneurs and their family members. Of this amount, UAH 1.15 billion has already been transferred to the recipients. More than 5,000 new jobs will be created in Ukraine thanks to this funding.
«Veteran businesses are not merely a tool for social integration, but a fully-fledged sector of the economy characterised by a high level of financial discipline. Over the past two years, Oschadbank has assessed grant applications from veterans and provided them with loans totalling over 1.56 billion hryvnias. We can see how, with this support, they are scaling up their businesses, creating jobs and confidently venturing into new areas — ranging from manufacturing and precision farming to IT projects. Our comprehensive program combines government grants, preferential financing, ready-made business solutions and specialised banking services to help veterans develop their businesses, become drivers of economic growth and ambassadors for Ukraine’s recovery," stated Natalia Butkova-Vitvitska, a Member of Management Board of Oschadbank in charge of MSMEs.
Creating the conditions for the financial and social integration of veterans is an integral part of the overall accessibility strategy that Oschadbank has been consistently implementing at all levels of its operations for over 12 years. As part of this strategy, support for veteran-led entrepreneurship becomes a fundamental prerequisite for the development of an inclusive business environment in Ukraine.
To date, Oschadbank stands as practically the only banking institution in Ukraine offering such a comprehensive package of tools and willing to provide loans to veterans’ businesses right from the start-up stage. This helps to meet the critical need for capital among those seeking to set up their own businesses upon returning to civilian life.
