Oschadbank has signed a loan agreement with the Kyiv City Council amounting to UAH 2.5 billion. The funds have already been allocated to Kyiv city development budget to implement the Capital’s Local Community Resilience Plan.
The loan provided by Oschadbank will boost the city’s ability to withstand the war-related challenges and potential disruptions in energy and heat supply throughout the 2026–2027 heating season, and will also facilitate the timely implementation of measures aimed at enhancing energy resilience. The loan agreement is valid until December 31, 2028.
“Oschadbank systematically supports communities in implementing projects that strengthen critical infrastructure and help enhance their energy self-sufficiency. Our market share in lending to the public sector currently stands at about 40%. As a state-owned bank, financing projects to ensure the energy resilience of Ukrainian cities is significant to us not only as a business partnership but also as a social responsibility toward communities during wartime. That is precisely why Oschadbank has made every effort to promptly provide financing to Ukraine’s capital to strengthen its energy security ahead of winter,” said Serhii Chernikov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Oschadbank.
“Given Kyiv’s budget shortfall for implementing energy investment projects, the financing from Oschadbank comes at just the right time. We are grateful to our colleagues for their prompt decision-making,” said Volodymyr Repik, Director of the Kyiv City Finance Department.
