Oschadbank has become the undisputed leader of the new state program to support household energy independence, accounting for 98% of all loans issued by Ukrainian banks since its launch.
This was reported during the Oschadbank Energy Finance 2026 forum by Anton Tiutiun, Deputy Chairman of the Bank’s Management Board in charge of retail business.
“In just the first three weeks after the launch of the updated program in 2026, Oschadbank provided UAH 152 million in financing to the public, effectively accounting for the bulk of the market for personal loans to modernize housing for energy efficiency. Oschadbank accounted for 98% of all loans issued by all Ukrainian banks,” — noted Anton Tiutiun.
The program covers financing for solar panels, energy storage systems, generators, home storage units, and other solutions that allow Ukrainian families to enhance their energy resilience amid the war.
According to Anton Tiutiun, the development of decentralized power generation among Ukrainians is becoming one of the key factors in the country’s energy security, and demand for such solutions is growing rapidly amid new challenges for the power grid.
Oschadbank is well-versed in this area: since 2014, the Bank has been a key driver of energy efficiency programs, and is now effectively leading a new phase in the transition of Ukrainian households toward a model of long-term energy independence.
Energy Finance 2026 is a large-scale energy forum organized by Oschadbank, which took place in Kyiv on May 13 and served as a key platform for discussing a new model of energy sustainability for Ukraine. The event brought together over 400 representatives from the public sector, international organizations, financial institutions, energy companies, and the business community to coordinate efforts in developing decentralized generation, supporting communities, and ensuring energy independence for households. The forum showcased how the banking sector is evolving to become the driving force behind the country’s comprehensive energy ecosystem. The event was sponsored by VISA, UPG, VUSO, and SONNEN+ ENERGIE.
