Oschadbank and Odesa Opera join forces to promote culture and inclusivity

Oschad News

Oschadbank and the Odesa National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet have signed a memorandum of cooperation for 2025-2026.

The partnership aims to support Ukrainian art, strengthen the cultural environment, and open up new opportunities for a wide audience. An important part of the cooperation will be the development of inclusive practices. Thanks to Oschadbank's experience within the social campaign “My Accessibility,” the theater will be able to open up even more to different categories of visitors and make opera and ballet accessible to everyone.

For over 11 years, Oschadbank has been supporting Ukrainian art in different parts of the country. We're convinced that culture is the foundation of unity and strength in society. Cooperation with the Odesa Opera will not only increase this potential but also make art more accessible and closer to people. It is especially important for us to help the theater develop inclusion, because the beauty and charm of opera and ballet should be open to everyone," comments Sergii Naumov, Chairman of the Board of Oschadbank.

For reference:

The Odesa National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet is the oldest opera house in Ukraine and one of the five most beautiful theaters in the world.

The theater was built over three years (from 1884 to 1887) on the site of the First City Theater, which burned down in 1873.

The Odesa Opera and Ballet Theater plays a significant role in the cultural life of Europe. It was here that such famous and popular operas as “The Barber of Seville” by G. Rossini, “Lucia di Lammermoor,” “The Elixir of Love” by G. Donizetti, and “Tosca” by G. Puccini were first performed in Ukraine. The theater's repertoire includes over 80 operas, ballets, children's performances, and concert programs. The Odesa Opera House is one of the few theaters where organ music concerts are held.
