Oschadbank CEO Yurii Katsion held a working meeting in London with Francis Malige, Managing Director and Head of Financial Institutions, and a team from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the EBRD conference “Pathways to Paris 2026,” which, on March 26, 2026, brought together global leaders, innovators, and practitioners to discuss climate finance, risk management, and economic resilience amid global instability.
During the meeting, the parties discussed expanding their strategic cooperation, particularly the introduction of new financing instruments to support Ukrainian businesses amid a full-scale war.
Following the dialogue, Oschadbank and the EBRD signed a letter of mandate regarding the preparation and implementation of a risk-sharing mechanism within the framework of EBRD programs.
“We value our strategic partnership with the EBRD and our joint work on solutions that simplify access to financing for businesses, even in conditions of heightened risks. Their implementation is a vital tool for supporting Ukraine’s economic resilience. To date, the total financing limit under the risk-sharing programs implemented by Oschadbank with the EBRD since early 2024 has already reached €300 million,” noted Yurii Katsion.
This involves the development of a joint instrument that will significantly expand Ukrainian companies’ access to credit by having an international financial institution partially cover the credit risk. The possibility of establishing a financing portfolio of up to €510 million is currently being explored, within which the EBRD could assume up to 70% of the credit risk for individual transactions.
The program's objective should be to prioritize assistance for
- enterprises that have suffered losses or damage as a result of the war;
- relocated businesses;
- companies contributing to economic recovery;
- businesses owned by veterans and internally displaced people, and women-led enterprises.
The EBRD is one of Oschadbank’s key international partners, and cooperation with it enables the bank to effectively scale up programs supporting Ukraine’s real economy.
The parties agreed to continue working on structuring the instrument and finalizing the terms of their future cooperation.
