Oschadbank continues reducing its level of distressed assets: new lots listed on Prozorro.Sale

Oschadbank continues using all the tools provided for under current legislation to settle distressed assets, with the aim of reducing their level in the bank’s portfolio.

“The use of debt sales is a quick and effective way of reducing the bank’s level of distressed assets. Oschadbank uses this tool only in cases where this scenario is the most beneficial. At the same time, it is often used in parallel with other judicial and extrajudicial settlement tools. We are channelling the freed-up resources towards fulfilling our strategic tasks, including lending to the country’s economy. Oschadbank continues to hold the leading position in the market for corporate lending, with a 13% market share as of September, according to NBU data,” said Yurii Katsion, Chairman of the Management Board of Oschadbank.

Oschadbank has currently put the following lots up for sale via the Prozorro.Sale electronic trading system:

1. A right of claim against ESU LLC (re-listed), which holds 92.79% of the shares in Ukrtelecom JSC. The starting price for the lot is UAH 2.645 billion. The previous auction, conducted as an English (ascending-price) auction, did not take place on 6 October, thus the bank is now offering the right of claim via a Dutch auction. In this auction, the starting price will be gradually reduced, after which participants will submit their bids. The bank will also continue to seek the debt recovery as part of the bankruptcy proceedings of ESU LLC.

2. A right of claim against VTORMET JSC (re-listed). As of the deadline for submitting bids to participate in the preliminary auction, which was conducted as a Dutch (descending-price) auction, no bids were received; therefore, the auction was deemed not to have taken place. The lot has been re-listed with a reduced minimum sale price. The starting price is UAH 4.95 billion, excluding VAT.

The collateral includes property rights to 160 flats and 44 parking slots in the STAR CITY residential complex in Kyiv, 46 real-estate properties in various regions of Ukraine, scrap metal processing equipment, 116 vehicles and two floating crafts. At the same time, the bank continues to settle this debt out of court.

3. A right of claim against SPETSZOVNISHKOMPLEKT PE. All existing collateral relating to this asset has been sold, and the liquidation proceedings against this borrower are in their final stages. At the same time, the bank continues its efforts to recover the debt from the individual guarantor and is taking steps to hold the debtor’s officials and owners liable on a subsidiary basis. The starting price for the lot is UAH 105.3 million. The previous auction, conducted as an English (ascending-price) auction, did not take place; therefore, the bank is putting the right of claim up for sale via a Dutch auction.
