Oschadbank starts using the last tranche under the risk-sharing agreement with the EBRD

Oschad News

Oschadbank and the EBRD have signed a document enabling the use of the last (third) tranche in the amount of EUR 75 million within the limit of the portfolio mechanism for unsecured risk sharing totaling EUR 200 million. The previous two tranches within the limit have been successfully implemented in accordance with the terms of the program. The new tranche is supported by partial first-loss risk cover guarantees extended by the European Union’s Ukraine Investment Framework (UIF), and investment incentives to eligible MSME sub-borrowers from EBRD Crisis Response Special Fund (CRSF).

The main goal of the program is to support Ukrainian businesses during a full-scale invasion. The risk-sharing instrument allows for a significant liberalization of the bank's collateral requirements, which makes lending to entrepreneurs at Oschadbank more affordable. A substantial share of sub-loans under this program is aimed at supporting businesses that have lost or suffered damage to their assets due to the full-scale invasion. Loans are also provided to companies that support the reintegration of veterans and war victims, internally displaced persons, and people with disabilities. Another key segment of the program is relocated companies, as well as businesses run by women and young people. The initiative also provides investment incentives and technical assistance to Ukrainian businesses.

"We consider the implementation of the joint portfolio risk-sharing program with the EBRD to be very successful, as our entrepreneurial clients are in great demand for this program. This shows that Ukrainian businesses are in dire need of preferential loan programs to help them adapt to the conditions of the major war. That is why we urge our international partners to expand such programs, and Oschadbank can become a reliable local partner in their implementation," said Sergii Naumov, Chairman of the Management Board of Oschadbank.
