Oschadbank Is Testing The Resilience of Its Branch Network in Fontline Regions

Oschad News

Oschadbank systematically carries out planned measures to ensure the stability of the country’s largest bank network of branches amid the challenges posed by the war.

Recently, Ievhenii Drachko-Yermolenko, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Oschadbank in charge of operational activities, undertook an inspection visit  of the Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv and Sumy regions.

The aim of the inspection is to assess organisational arrangements and verify the proper functioning of all security and autonomous systems under conditions of heightened risk, to discuss current operational challenges with on-site teams, as well as to ensure that the banking network continues to provide customers with uninterrupted access to financial services.

During the on-site inspections, particular attention was paid to the safety of staff and customers, the physical security of the premises and their preparedness for potential power cuts.

To ensure stable operations in frontline areas, Oschadbank branches are equipped with backup power supplies and the necessary fuel reserves. Furthermore, to strengthen the physical security of premises and critical infrastructure in branches located in the most dangerous regions, the bank is implementing a range of additional engineering measures -  from security shutters and armoured structures to gabions and anti-drone nets.

“The main aim of the inspection is to ensure that all our security, engineering and operational measures are fully operational and effectively protect people and the banking infrastructure. A top priority is both the safety of our staff who come to work every day and the comfort and security of customers visiting our branches. We have created and maintain conditions under which the network is able to operate effectively in all circumstances. The results speak for themselves: at the end of the first eight months of 2026, all four frontline branches were among the bank’s top ten in terms of operating profit. I would like to thank the teams on the ground for their meticulous work, discipline and excellent results in challenging conditions,” said Ievhenii Drachko-Yermolenko, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Oschadbank.

Today, 196 branches operate across Oschadbank’s four regional offices: 71 in Dnipropetrovsk, 59 in Kharkiv, 35 in Sumy and 24 in Zaporizhzhia.

Despite constant security challenges, daily threats and difficult working conditions, the frontline regions are demonstrating high efficiency and consistently hold leading positions within the Oschadbank system. As at  September 1, 2026, the Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv and Sumy branches were among the bank’s top 10 in terms of lending volumes and funds raised. In particular, the Sumy branch ranked fourth in terms of the volume of loans granted to legal entities.

The results are particularly strong in terms of attracting funds. The Dnipropetrovsk branch ranked third in terms of customer balances, whilst the Kharkiv branch ranked third in terms of deposits from Ukrainian citizens amongst all Oschadbank’s regional offices. This demonstrates a high level of trust in the bank in frontline areas.

Oschadbank continues to work on strengthening the operational resilience of its branch network and supporting the teams that ensure the availability of banking services in frontline communities, where the security situation permits.
