Oschadbank, Mastercard, and Ukrzaliznytsia Offer to Exchange “Hugs” into Aid for Railway Workers’ Families

In honor of Railway Workers’ Day, Mastercard, Oschadbank, and Ukrzaliznytsia have launched the “My Gratitude. My Country” charity campaign. Between October 19 and November 4, 2026, Ukrainians can exchange “hugs” accumulated in Ukrzaliznytsia’s loyalty program for donations to “The Railway Family”, a project supporting the railway community and their families affected by the war. The goal of the campaign is to collect 100 million “hugs.”
“Despite intense shelling and the enemy’s constant attempts to destroy the railway infrastructure, the Ukrainian railway continues to operate thanks to the professionalism and efficient work of the repair crews. Behind this resilience are the people who ensure trains run every day, often at the risk of their own safety. At the same time, the war is affecting their families, who need support. Thanks to a partnership between Oschadbank, Mastercard, and Ukrzaliznytsia, everyone can convert their accumulated bonuses into real aid for affected railroad workers and their families. This is a simple way to thank those who keep the railway running and to support their loved ones,” said Anton Tiutiun, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Oschadbank.
“Hugs” are loyalty program reward points from Ukrzaliznytsia that passengers earn when purchasing tickets. Normally, they can be redeemed for discounts and bonuses from partners, but as part of the “My Gratitude. My Country” campaign, they can be donated to charity. A separate “Charity” section has been added to the Ukrzaliznytsia mobile app for this purpose.
To participate in the campaign, open the “Charity” section in the Ukrzaliznytsia app and select a donation option. During the campaign period, users can donate “hugs” once for each of the fixed packages. Oschadbank and Mastercard will convert the reward points into the corresponding amount of funds (within the total fund of up to UAH 1 million) and transfer them to the “Railway Family” account to help injured railway workers and their families.
You can participate in the campaign through November 4, 2026.
As a reminder, Ukrzaliznytsia, in partnership with Mastercard, launched its mobile app for ticket sales and passenger information in August 2022. Today, the app has over 7 million users.
