More than 22,000 entrepreneurs received state grants in the amount of UAH 5.3 billion for the three years of existence of the “Vlasna Spava” (“Own Business”) direction of the grant program “eRobota” with the participation of Oschad. At the same time, in total, about 25,000 applicants received 12 billion state grants within the framework of eRobota, for which Oschadbank verified more than 80,000 applications for grant support.
Such results of participation in state grant initiatives to support small and medium-sized businesses were presented by Natalya Butkova-Vitvitska, a member of the board of Oschadbank responsible for the MMSB, on September 2 at the Resilience Forum: Entrepreneurship during the War. The forum aimed to identify political, financial, and technical solutions to support entrepreneurs in wartime conditions to maintain economic activity and post-war recovery of the country.
As part of the panel discussions, Natalia Butkova-Vitvitska presented to the audience statistics on the microgrant program “Own Business”:
- about 55% of recipients are women, which confirms their active participation in the development of Ukrainian business;
- 70% of grantees have a higher education, which indicates a high educational level of entrepreneurs;
- 29% of grantees have no previous business experience or have worked for less than a year;
- 61% of entrepreneurs belong to the age group of 31-50 years, which is the most active period for starting a business.
The largest number of grant applicants was recorded in Kyiv, Dnipro, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Rivne. It is important that 40% of grant recipients later applied to Oschadbank for additional financing. This indicates the further development of businesses started within “Own Business.”
The most popular areas of use of grant funds are:
- acquisition of fixed assets;
- purchase of raw materials and other materials;
- equipment modernization.
“Oschadbank's participation in state grant programs is not just the performance of the functions of a partner bank, but our strategic mission to support Ukrainian entrepreneurship in wartime conditions. We are proud to have been able to provide a reliable financial bridge between government support programs and real business needs. Today's forum demonstrates how important it is to unite the efforts of the state, business, and international partners to support entrepreneurial initiatives,” Natalia Butkova-Vitvitska, a member of the board of Oschadbank, noted.
The state program “Own Business” was launched in 2022 by the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine to stimulate the development of small and micro businesses. Oschadbank is the exclusive partner bank of the program.
