Enemy fire hits one of Oschadbank’s buildings: staff and property evacuated in time

Oschad News

An artillery shell hit an Oschadbank building on 22 September during enemy shelling of Kherson. The building sustained significant damage. Thanks to the timely relocation of the bank’s operations to a safer location, no staff were injured. People, property and the bank’s valuables had been evacuated in advance.

Oschadbank continues to provide banking services to residents of Kherson and the region without interruption, including via alternative channels.

“Oschadbank constantly assesses the security situation and adapts the operations of its units in line with the nature of the threats. Our top priority is the lives and health of our employees and customers, as well as the protection of the bank’s property. That is why, in Kherson, we relocated the regional office to a safer location in good time. Any changes to branch operations or their closure are necessary measures that we are taking solely for the sake of people’s safety. At the same time, our business continuity plan enables the bank to adapt its operations to new challenges and continue providing services to customers,” said Yurii Katsion, Chairman of the Management Board of Oschadbank.

Thanks to its business continuity plan, the bank is able to practise response scenarios for various types of emergencies. A critical component of operational resilience is the provision of backup power and telecommunications infrastructure.

One of the key tools for ensuring the availability of banking services in frontline communities is mobile banking units. Oschadbank operates 15 such units based on specialised vehicles: 10 in frontline regions and the other 5 in remote communities in the central and western regions.

Oschadbank also maintains a network of over 1,150 operational branches. On-duty branches are part of the POWER BANKING system and are equipped with autonomous power supplies and back-up communications, enabling them to serve customers even during prolonged power cuts. Customers can carry out most banking transactions remotely via Oschadbank’s online services.

Despite the challenging security situation, the bank continues to expand its customer base. Compared with the end of Q1 2026, the number of retail customers increased by over 80,000 as of September, taking into account figures from the combat zone. In August alone, the customer base grew by 69,400 customers – the largest monthly increase since the beginning of the year.

This growth was driven in particular by an increase in the number of customers receiving their salaries through Oschadbank, employees in the military and security sectors, and recipients of social benefits.
