Oschadbank’s Supervisory Board urges all parties to refrain from politicizing public debates about procurement practices and particular management decisions
Oschad News
Oschadbank operates based on a modern corporate governance model that aligns with international best practices. Most members of Oschadbank’s Supervisory Board are independent, including foreign experts with many years of experience in the financial sector. This structure ensures an appropriate level of oversight, independence in decision-making free from third-party interference, and protection against any undue influence.
Oschadbank’s procurement procedures are multi-tiered, collegial, and risk-based. They involve not only the evaluation of price proposals but also a comprehensive review of participants’ compliance with established qualification, technical, and reputational requirements. The bank continuously implements best practices and strives for operational excellence in all processes.
The fact that companies with a questionable or unacceptable reputation participate in open tenders does not indicate a flaw in the system. On the contrary, the rejection of such proposals following the review confirms the effectiveness of control procedures and the proper functioning of the bank’s risk management system.
Decisions regarding the relevant procurement were made collectively in accordance with Oschadbank’s internal procedures. The Supervisory Board supports adherence to these procedures and the management’s professional stance aimed at protecting the interests of the bank and the state.
At the same time, we emphasize that the criminal proceedings, which are currently within the jurisdiction of law enforcement agencies, must be considered exclusively within the legal framework. A notice of suspicion is a procedural step and does not constitute a finding of guilt.
The Supervisory Board consistently upholds the principle of the presumption of innocence and expects an objective, impartial, and professional investigation of all circumstances by the relevant authorities.
We urge all interested parties to refrain from politicizing this situation and from spreading unverified or subjective assessments that could undermine confidence in the financial system and state institutions as a whole.
The Supervisory Board will continue to exercise proper oversight of Oschadbank’s activities, ensure compliance with the highest standards of corporate governance, and respond appropriately to any attempts to discredit it.
