During his visit to Kyiv to speak at the IX Annual Research Conference “Economic and Financial Integration in a World of Disruption and Fragmentation”, which the NBU traditionally holds jointly with Narodowy Bank Polski, Governor of the Bank of England Andrew Bailey got acquainted with the progress of Oschadbank's inclusive program “My Accessibility”. Together with the Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine Andrii Pyshny, he visited one of the inclusive branches of Oschad, located in Kyiv, and also got acquainted with the work of the mobile "on the wheels" branch of Oschad. The distinguished guest highly appreciated the bank's efforts in developing a barrier-free environment and ensuring access to financial services even in the most difficult conditions.
"These two innovative types of branches are evidence that the Ukrainian banking system stays by its customers even during the challenges that Ukraine is currently facing," commented Andrew Bailey, the Governor of the Bank of England.
"We appreciate the attention of the global community to our inclusive initiatives - it is gratifying that our country, thanks to Oschadbank, is a trendsetter in this area. Development of inclusive financial services is a key area of Oschadbank's sustainable development programs, as we strive to create a real space of equal opportunities in Ukraine. We have been working on the development of banking inclusion for a long time, but it is during a full-scale war that these areas are of particular importance," said Sergii Naumov, Chairman of the Management Board of Oschadbank.
Since October 2023, Oschadbank has been implementing its own inclusive program, “My Accessibility,” and is a recognized leader in the Ukrainian financial sector in the area of inclusiveness. One of the program's components is to improve the physical accessibility of the largest branch network among all Ukrainian banks. More than 700 out of about 1,150 Oschad branches comply with the state building codes for inclusiveness, and 23 super-inclusive branches were created by the bank's own design. In addition, 10 mobile branches provide access to financial services in communities where no other bank operates. The “branches on wheels” are equipped with everything necessary: one can open an account, make a deposit, reissue a card, make a transfer, or receive social assistance - for both individuals and businesses. Such mobile units are especially important for residents of frontline and remote areas.
