Yesterday, December 4, on the eve of International Volunteer Day, at a ceremony marking its 35th anniversary, the Association of Ukrainian Banks (AUB) honored volunteers representing the Ukrainian banking system. Among them were three Oschadbank employees: Volodymyr Baraniak, Oleksii Davliud, and Dmytro Golovatenko.
Volodymyr Baraniak and Oleksiy Davliud are fellow volunteers who have been helping Ukraine's defenders for over ten years. Their journey began back in 2014, when they both, each in their own team, set out to help our military in the east. Today, they work as a single team: during the war, the volunteers have made over 120 trips to the combat zone, and the “Vulyk” initiative coordinated by Volodymyr has implemented projects worth over UAH 30 million to purchase drones, equipment, mobile baths, a dental office, buses for the wounded, hundreds of pieces of equipment, and cars. Today, Volodymyr and Oleksiy continue to work in the frontline territories: they evacuate people, deliver aid, repair equipment, and support the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Territorial Defense Forces.
Dmytro Golovatenko is a volunteer at Oschadbank who has been actively involved in initiatives for the front lines since the first days of the full-scale invasion. At first, it was weaving camouflage nets. Later, Dmytro joined the large-scale project “Ukrainian Warrior Clean and Neat,” in which a group of volunteers designs and manufactures mobile shower and laundry complexes out of shipping containers. More than a hundred such modules have already been created. A separate area of his volunteer work is supporting a unit of the Main Intelligence Directorate. Together with colleagues and friends, Dmytro purchased and donated a vehicle to the military. He also participates in the repair and retrofitting of equipment at his own expense.
"I sincerely thank the AUB for deciding to mark its 35th anniversary by awarding bank volunteers. We perceive the awards given to three of our employees as recognition of the merits of all Oschadbank volunteers, who are much more numerous. They have been helping the front line every day for many years, bringing a just peace to our country closer and ensuring that the Oschadbank community has a reputation as patriotic and caring citizens," commented Sergii Naumov, Chairman of the Board of Oschadbank.
